This allows the shaft to remain clear and assists during decontamination and sterilization, ultimately preserving the life of the instrument. Bi-Color rongeurs feature a combination black and gold titanium nitride surface treatment, which hardens and protects the instrument body and cutting surface for a durable, smooth gliding action. These coated rongeurs do not need sharpening as often as traditional rongeurs, thus reducing operating costs and enhancing service life. It is specifically designed for use in laminectomies in which a portion of the vertebral arch is removed posteriorly.
